Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University

Founded in 1945. It has 6 faculties, where more than 11,000 students and interns study. In 2024, with the election of Roman Yatsyshyn to the position of rector, the university chose a new vector of development that needed to update its branding.

TASK: creating a new, modern visual and verbal communication strategy for the university with applicants and students.

DESIGN CONCEPT

When creating the logo design concept for IFNMU, elements and common features of the coat of arms of Ivano-Frankivsk (the city where the university is based), a shield (a symbol of protection), an open book (a symbol of knowledge), and the Cyrillic letters “i”, “Ф” and “M” were used ( Ivano-Frankivsk and Medicine).

BRAND BEARERS

One of the key points when creating a logo for a new brand is that it should be attractive for outdoor use. So that, so to speak, you want to put it on yourself. Thus, people who wear branded clothing become carriers of Brad, generally advertising it.

VISUALIZATION

To demonstrate what the new identity will look like, we created visualizations of what the new logo will look like on apparel, cups, badges, and other promotional media.

IDENTITY

After updating the logo, new elements of corporate style were developed (staff business cards, letterheads, pens, etc.).

ADVERTISING DESIGN

To attract the attention of the target audience, we developed a slogan and creative advertising. The layout contains a minimum of graphic elements and text, but carries a lot of verbal and non-verbal meanings:

  • metaphorical comparison of a doctor’s profession with the work of a superhero saving the world from threats;
  • two thumbs up is a universally recognized gesture symbolizing approval;
  • the slogan broadcasts the verbal message that all those who study and have studied at IFNMU are heroes.

PRESENTATION

On May 30, 2024, the presentation of the updated branding was held before the Academic Council of Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University. The new branding of the university was positively perceived and unanimously accepted.
